| "This was a custom trip. Melinda, in the office, was easy to work with, and we were able to arrange our desired plans. The raft guides are outstanding. We flipped out boat, on North Fork, and they methodically collected all of us back, in some pretty fast moving rough water. Outstanding job by all of them. Made the trip very memorable, and a blast. Very kinds, smart, river savy - we felt exceptionally safe in her hands in the boat and would love to have her as our guide for every trip. Im sure you get nothing but rave reviews about her and our trip was no exception. The Trip Experience was just delightful. It was very cold during our trip and we were so grateful to be provided with "full body armor" (wet suit, jacket, splash jacket and booties) and one of the other guides, Matt, even loaned my skinny 13 year old son a fleece sweater to help warm him up at lunch - a very kind and selfless act on Matts part, and one that truly made a huge difference for my son. "Thank you so much for accommodating our large group of students. The rafting trip was definitely the highlight for almost everyone, and the experience had a profound effect on our students. The guides were engaging and dynamic and their enthusiasm was infectious from the put-in all the way to the take-out. A couple of anecdotes I'd like you to share with the staff: "In the morning, we had 2 students opt not to raft. They were a bit nervous and scared after the safety talk and actually seeing (and hearing) the river. While we were eating lunch at camp (after we rafted the Chili Bar section), both students approached me and asked to join the group. They mentioned that everyone seemed like they had had so much fun and was talking about it constantly over lunch...It's clear that our trip with you brought out the best in our children. Their encouragement and energy were infectious. They made scared peers feel safe and nervous peers feel comfortable. "Many of our students do not know how to swim and were somewhat fearful when they heard we were going rafting. But as our trip began, something funny happened. First, two students together took the plunge into the river on a dare. A few other boats saw this, and that led to a few more students jumping in. By the end of our trip just prior to being hitched up and towed, students were jumping in left and right amid cheers. They even started chanting for the teachers to do the same, which we did. Both of these anecdotes highlight the best in our children. Their ability to inspire each other and help each other overcome challenges is awesome. It is amazing how a 3,000-mile flight, a 3-hour bus ride and the gracious spirit of a rafting company can help our children learn more about themselves than they had ever known. Thank you for providing such an exhilarating experience for all of us, teachers included! We definitely hope to continue this relationship in the future. "We couldnt have had a better guide. Nikki was always concerned with safety but still constantly made the trip fun and kept us laughing. She told us a little bit of history for the area, pointed out animals, and taught us the basics of rafting. The 3 girls from Hawaii cannot wait to come back to raft again! We will definitely be requesting Nikki again. Even though the weather was crappy, it rained, and it was freezing, we had an amazing trip. We will definitely be returning back to Mariahs for future rafting trips. We hope to attack Middle Fork next year!! We just wish we lived closer so that we could do this trip with you guys more often. Coming from Hawaii is a bit far, but it definitely wont stop us." A.C. |

"The entire reservation experience, and pre-trip materials were all excellent. Kenna and the guides for Raft Express really provided a terrific experience for our group that included a lot of younger kids. They were fun and encouraging, and made everyone feel safe and included. We added on camping and meals, and the food and staff at the campground were also very good. Loved the "wine-tasting" on Saturday night. The overall Trip Experience was Excellent." C.P |
